Author: CA. Deepak Gupta

We Chartered Accountant Generally Face Challenge to do the Reconciliation of GST Input Register and with GSTR2B. Every month we need to do the Reconciliation of GST Input Register and with GSTR2B. Many of us are using the Paid software to do such reconciliation.

But now with the Help of the AI we can do such Reconciling. By using Chat GPT and Macros we can create our Own Reconciliation tool and using that we can do such reconciliation in the Excel itself.

Use Case Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEbE5ziMAyU

Here is have written a Prompt and asked the Char GPT to Remove the Special characters from the invoice number and then later on merged that invoice number with the GST number so that it become the unique number and then then I have asked in the prompt to do the reconciliation of GSTR2B Data and Data of the Input Register

1. Check the Amounts and Write Comments in Column M:

  1. If the unique value appears in both GSTR2B and Our Data, the amounts are compared.
  2. If the amounts match exactly, "Matched" is written in Column M.
  3. If the amounts differ by up to Rs. 20, "Nominal Difference" is written in Column M.
  4. If the unique value appears only in GSTR2B or only in Our Data, then write comments as Not in Our Data or Not in GSTR2B appropriate comments are written in Column M.

2. Highlight Rows with different colors Based on Comment in Column M:

  1. Rows are highlighted based on the comment in Column M using conditional formatting with different colors:
  2. "Difference" -> Light Red
  3. "Not in Our Data" -> Light Blue
  4. "Not in GSTR2B" -> Yellow
  5. Other comments or no comment -> No color

After that Chat GPT will give the VBA code and that VBA code is pasted in the Excel file to do the Reconciliation. Press Alt+F11 and then go to Insert option and then Module and then Paste the Macro Code which is provided by the Chat GPT. Once Pasted you will be able to Run the Macro Code. Once code is Successfully running save the file as Excel Macro Enabled Workbook.
