NoticeAI is a web-based AI tool that helps Chartered Accountants and tax practitioners respond to income-tax and GST notices faster, smarter, and with greater confidence. A CA uploads or pastes a notice; within minutes the tool delivers a fully drafted, legally grounded reply — complete with relevant case laws sourced from Indian Kanoon, procedural defect analysis, demand concession mapping, and a step-by-step litigation roadmap. It does not replace CA judgement; it amplifies it.
2.The Problem
Responding to a tax or GST notice today is time-consuming and error-prone:
- A single notice can require 4–8 hours of research, drafting, and review.
- Relevant Supreme Court / High Court / ITAT precedents are hard to locate quickly.
- Procedural defects in notices (limitation, missing sanction, lack of tangible material) are frequently missed, forfeiting strong grounds for the assessee.
- Smaller CA firms cannot afford expensive legal databases for every notice.
- Clients expect quick turnaround, yet compliance quality cannot be compromised.
3. The Solution: NoticeAI
NoticeAI automates the research-and-drafting pipeline end-to-end using Claude AI (Anthropic) and the Indian Kanoon legal database — while keeping the CA in full control at every step.
How it works — Four automated steps:
- Step 1 — Analyse: Claude reads the notice and extracts the notice type, sections invoked, key queries raised by the department, procedural defects, and the reply deadline.
- Step 2 — Fetch the Law: The tool fetches the exact text of cited sections (Income Tax Act / CGST Act) from Indian Kanoon in real time.
- Step 3 — Find Case Laws: Parallel searches across Indian Kanoon surface the most relevant Supreme Court, High Court, and ITAT rulings — each scored and ranked by court authority, citation count, and AI-assessed relevance.
- Step 4 — Draft the Reply: Claude drafts a ground-by-ground reply letter with full legal citations, an evidence checklist, and a prayer — all in polite, professional language.
Throughout, the CA can edit grounds, add their own known case laws, set the reply tone (Cooperative / Contesting / Extension), and re-draft with a single click.
