NoticeAI is a web-based AI tool that helps Chartered Accountants and tax practitioners respond to income-tax and GST notices faster, smarter, and with greater confidence. A CA uploads or pastes a notice; within minutes the tool delivers a fully drafted, legally grounded reply — complete with relevant case laws sourced from Indian Kanoon, procedural defect analysis, demand concession mapping, and a step-by-step litigation roadmap. It does not replace CA judgement; it amplifies it.
Responding to a tax or GST notice today is time-consuming and error-prone:
NoticeAI automates the research-and-drafting pipeline end-to-end using Claude AI (Anthropic) and the Indian Kanoon legal database — while keeping the CA in full control at every step.
How it works — Four automated steps:
Throughout, the CA can edit grounds, add their own known case laws, set the reply tone (Cooperative / Contesting / Extension), and re-draft with a single click.
| Feature | What It Does |
| Notice Analysis | Extracts notice type, sections, department queries, procedural defects, assessment year, and demand amount automatically. |
| Procedural Defect Detector | Flags if the notice is legally defective — missing PCIT sanction, time-bar, no tangible material — and suggests a writ petition where warranted. |
| Real-time Case Law Search | Searches Indian Kanoon with AI-generated queries; ranks cases by court authority (SC > HC > ITAT), citation count, and relevance; shows Favourable/Against badge per case. |
| Strategy Brief | CA reviews and edits grounds, per-ground tone, linked cases, and custom case laws before the draft is generated — keeping the CA in control. |
| AI Reply Drafting | Generates a complete, ground-by-ground reply letter with citations, evidence list, and prayer. Supports constrained mode where CA-finalised grounds are sent verbatim to the AI. |
| Demand Breakup / Concession Map | Breaks the total demand into Fight / Partial / Concede buckets with amounts and rationale — helps CA advise clients on financial exposure. |
| Litigation Roadmap | Generates a full appeal chain (CIT(A) > ITAT > HC > SC) with statutory deadlines, estimated costs, success probability, and settlement options (VSV 2.0, Sec 270AA). |
| Hearing Preparation Brief | Produces opening/closing statements, per-ground talking points, anticipated AO questions with model answers, and a documents checklist for the personal hearing. |
| Extension Request Letter | Drafts a formal extension letter with section references when the reply deadline is near (7 days or less). |
| Devil's Advocate Report | Generates per-ground AO counter-arguments and hearing risks so the CA can stress-test the reply before submission. |
| CBDT Circular Finder | Searches Indian Kanoon for CBDT circulars relevant to the notice at zero extra AI cost. |
| Client Communication Letter | Auto-drafts a polite client letter explaining the notice and the actions required in plain language. |
| Export (Word / PDF / Excel) | Exports the full reply, enclosures checklist, and client letter in .docx, .pdf, or .xlsx with one click. |
| Email & WhatsApp Delivery | Sends the draft reply and checklist directly to the client via email (SMTP) or WhatsApp from within the tool. |
| Google Calendar Reminders | Adds the reply deadline to Google for CA and client. |
| CA Sign-off Checklist | 9-point quality checklist with CA name and Membership Number attestation block — ensures nothing is missed before submission. |
| Amendment Alerts | Flags recent Finance Act amendments (2021–2024) on every section cited in the notice. |
