Privacy-First Succession, Continuity and Legacy Advisory Platform for Chartered Accountants

Use case in one lineVirasat AI turns a family business’s scattered documents, Tally data and asset records into one masked, computed and continuously scored picture of the family’s wealth, ownership and succession readiness. It models the orderly transfer of that wealth across generations with projected tax and risk, and produces client-ready advisory output on the firm’s own letterhead, with every sensitive identifier masked on the firm’s premises before any cloud call and a human Chartered Accountant owning every conclusion.AttributeDetail

1. Brief of the Application

Virasat AI is a privacy-first succession and legacy advisory platform built for Chartered Accountants in India who advise promoter and family-business clients. Virasat is the Hindi, Urdu and Gujarati word for heritage, the wealth, business and values a family passes from one generation to the next. The platform is built for the reality of professional practice, where a family’s wealth and ownership are scattered across documents, Tally, demat accounts, property papers and a web of entities, where succession is treated as a feared, last-minute event, and where a Chartered Accountant cannot risk confidential family data leaving the firm.

The platform assembles a family’s complete financial and asset picture from documents and Tally, computes its net worth, allocation and liquidity, scores its succession readiness through the Family Continuity Score, models an orderly transfer of wealth with projected tax and risk, values the business, and produces a client-ready advisory report on the firm’s own letterhead. It runs on one non-negotiable rule. Every sensitive identifier is masked on the firm’s premises by deterministic rules before any cloud reasoning call, the map that reverses that masking never leaves the building, and a human Chartered Accountant forms and signs every conclusion. The Chartered Accountant is the operator, the family is the client, and a lawyer is an adjacent collaborator engaged for every legal instrument and never replaced.

One number, one storyA single Chartered Accountant, on a single laptop, can assemble a family’s entire wealth and ownership picture, score its succession readiness out of 100, model a no-plan against a planned future with projected tax and risk, and hand the family a letterheaded advisory pack, with every PAN, Aadhaar, GSTIN and name masked on the firm’s premises before any identifier ever reaches the cloud, and India’s absence of any estate or inheritance tax respected so that none is ever computed.

2. Problem and Proposed Solution

Current pain point in family-business advisoryHow Virasat AI addresses it

A family’s wealth and ownership are scattered across documents, Tally, demat, property papers and many entities, with no single owner of the complete picture. The seven-stage pipeline assembles one computed family record from documents and Tally, with missing data flagged, and the Heritage Digital Twin maps every member, entity and asset.
Succession is treated as a feared, last-minute event, so families face disputes, blocked assets and avoidable tax on transfer. The Succession Simulator models a no-plan against a planned future with projected tax and risk, turning succession into a planned, defensible advisory service.
Nominees, demat mandates and instrument status are missing or stale, and no one tracks statutory deadlines across the family’s entities. The Legacy Map flags missing nominees, Estate and Vault records instrument status, and Compliance Watch tracks every statutory deadline from versioned configuration.
Generic AI tools would leak confidential family data, which a Chartered Accountant cannot risk under a duty of confidentiality.A deterministic masking gateway tokenises every identifier on the firm’s premises before any cloud call, fail-closed, with the re-identification vault never leaving the building.
Advisory output is slow to prepare and hard to make defensible and consistent across a firm.Every report and document is generated on the firm letterhead, computed from the deterministic engine, traceable to a hash-chained Trust Ledger, and carries a reference-and-guidance disclaimer.

3. Users, Scope and Professional Outputs

AreaSummary

Primary usersChartered Accountant firms advising promoter and family-business clients, and the partners and engagement staff who run succession, continuity, valuation and wealth-preservation engagements.
Engagement scopeSuccession and continuity planning, family wealth assembly and net-worth tracking, business valuation, transfer and structuring analysis, governance documentation, scheme and benefit identification, and advisory reporting. The platform is advisory-only, with no legal-instrument drafting and no SEBI-regulated portfolio advice.
Operating modelA per-client encrypted SQLite store, deterministic offline engines by default, local models on-premise, and masked cloud reasoning only behind the fail-closed gateway when online features are enabled.
Professional outputsThe Family Continuity Score, the Heritage Digital Twin and Legacy Map, the Succession Simulator, a family newspaper in English and the family’s language, professional governance drafts, and a full advisory report pack, all on the firm’s letterhead.

4. Core Functional Modules

Modules are organised across four operating pillars, Work, Analyse, Plan and Advise. The platform separates modules that operate on the selected family engagement from general tools that need no specific family.

4.1 Family workspace

ModulePurpose

Run PipelineOne-click orchestration of the full seven-stage pipeline that ingests, masks, computes and populates every module for the loaded family.
Mission ControlThe family command dashboard showing the Family Continuity Score, family wealth, enterprise value and entities and members, each on a real trend line.
Data IntakeFolder and zip drag-and-drop ingestion that walks the family’s document set and normalises it into the client record.
Document IntelligenceDonut, LayoutLMv3 and Tesseract extraction that turns scanned and structured documents into a structured asset and entity register, with gaps flagged.
Heritage Digital TwinA labelled family and ownership graph across generations, showing every member, entity and asset and the relationships between them.
Wealth CockpitThe computed net-worth, allocation, concentration and liquidity view of the family’s wealth.
Business IntelligenceEnterprise valuation and business analytics for the family’s operating companies.
Succession StudioThe Succession Simulator: a side-by-side no-plan against planned future with projected tax and risk, the emotional centrepiece of the engagement.
Continuity OSThe continuity cadence and the Family Continuity Score engine that tracks readiness over time.
Compliance WatchStatutory deadline tracking for the family’s entities, read from versioned configuration.
Benefits UnlockedGovernment scheme and benefit identification, gated deterministically by the family’s profile and anchored on the myScheme framework.
Estate & VaultThe encrypted document vault and the instrument-status register, flagging every legal instrument to a lawyer.
Family GovernanceGenerates professional governance drafts on the firm letterhead, with wills, trusts and nominations routed to a lawyer and never drafted here.
Legacy KnowledgeThe per-family knowledge wiki, compiled and maintained on-premise and queried for grounded, cited answers.
Family NewspaperA multi-page family publication in English and the family’s language, carrying wealth, schemes, regional news and continuity desks.
Money MindsetA behavioural-finance lens on the family’s saving, spending and risk signals.
Secure AI DeskThe masked job queue that dispatches research to the Hermes and OpenClaw agents and re-identifies replies locally.
Report StudioThe advisory report pack and the yearly legacy booklet, on the firm letterhead.
CA Advisory WorkbenchThe review surface where the Chartered Accountant finalises and signs advisory output.
Trust LedgerThe hash-chained record of every masking event, outbound decision and consequential action.

4.2 General tools

ModulePurpose

Pipeline ArchitectureThe in-app map of the whole Secured Hybrid Intelligence stack, from deterministic rules to local models to masked cloud and agents.
Onboarding & EngagementBrings a new family into the platform and sets up the engagement, so the platform generalises beyond the demo families.
SettingsFirm details, theme, the masking and connector configuration, the Hermes and OpenClaw bots, and SMTP status and test.
Self-test (masking oracle)Runs the identifier-masking self-test against the known target set and reports the pass count.

5. Advisory Lifecycle

Virasat AI mirrors how a Chartered Accountant actually runs a succession and continuity engagement, from onboarding to a client-ready deliverable, so the workflow is professional rather than merely analytical.

  1. Engagement context. Onboard the family and load its record once; every downstream module works in that same family context.
  2. Data assembly. Ingest the family’s documents and Tally in any shape through Data Intake and Document Intelligence; the pipeline normalises the data and masks it at the gateway.
  3. Wealth and ownership picture. The deterministic engine computes net worth, allocation, concentration and liquidity, and the Heritage Digital Twin maps every member, entity and asset.
  4. Readiness scoring. Continuity OS computes the Family Continuity Score and its subscores, and Compliance Watch surfaces every statutory deadline.
  5. Succession modelling. The Succession Simulator projects a no-plan against a planned future with tax and risk, and the structuring analysis frames transfer options strictly within the Chartered Accountant’s competence.
  6. Governance and instruments. Family Governance prepares letterheaded drafts, and every legal instrument is flagged and routed to a lawyer.
  7. Reporting and engagement. Report Studio and the Family Newspaper produce client-ready output on the firm letterhead, the Secure AI Desk runs masked research, and the Trust Ledger records every action.

6. Computational Depth and Advisory Scope

The deterministic core computes the family’s position at the level of the whole family and at the level of the individual entity and asset, so every figure is reproducible and traceable, and the masked reasoning layer adds narrative depth on top without ever supplying a number.

CapabilityDepth

Wealth computationNet worth, asset allocation, concentration, liquidity percentage and a twelve-point-plus weekly wealth time series, all computed deterministically in Python.
Family Continuity ScoreA single 0 to 100 readiness metric built from succession, governance, liquidity, documentation and compliance subscores, recomputed from signed inputs and read identically across every screen and document.
Succession modellingA no-plan against planned projection with transfer tax and risk under current law. India has no estate or inheritance tax, and none is ever computed.
Business valuationEnterprise value for the family’s operating companies on an explainable basis.
Statutory trackingTax-audit, GST-registration, e-invoicing and TDS and TCS thresholds and due dates, read from versioned configuration and never hard-coded.
Scheme matchingDeterministic eligibility against NIC 2008 code, state and turnover band, anchored on the myScheme framework.
Balance-sheet verificationSchedule III balance-sheet checks comparing the two total rows column-wise, per column and per year.
TraceabilityEvery figure carries its computation, drills down to source, and traces to the hash-chained Trust Ledger.

7. AI, Security and Governance Layer

Privacy is a property of the architecture, not a promise of a model. Work is routed deterministic rules first, local models next, and the cloud last and least, and the application is the only trust boundary.

LayerControlProfessional significance

Three-tier architectureTier 0 deterministic rules on-premise, Tier 1 local models on-premise, and Tier 2 masked cloud and agents behind the gateway. The cloud runs only on masked data and only when it adds value; the firm stays in control.
Masking gatewayFail-closed and the sole path to any cloud or agent; if a payload cannot be confirmed masked, it does not leave.Confidential family data never leaves the firm in identifiable form.
Tier 0 masking authorityDeterministic rules recognise PAN by format, GSTIN and Aadhaar by checksum, and named entities by dictionary, and tokenise in a format-preserving way; the local model only proposes candidates. No probabilistic model is ever the masking guarantee.
On-premise vaultThe token-to-identity map is encrypted, segregated and never leaves the premises; re-identification happens only locally. The crown jewel that reverses masking stays in the building.
Hermes and OpenClaw agentsIndia-located agents instructed through Telegram bots on masked context only, with replies re-identified locally and human approval before any job runs.Web research without raw client data ever leaving the firm.
Advisory governanceThe Chartered Accountant is an advisor, not a lawyer; portfolio content is hard-walled to education behind a SEBI-boundary disclaimer; every document carries a reference-and-guidance disclaimer. The platform advises, the Chartered Accountant signs, and a lawyer drafts instruments.
Trust LedgerEvery masking event, outbound decision and consequential action writes a hash-chained entry, and chain integrity verifies.A tamper-evident, reviewable record under a DPDP-era duty of care.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the firm is the Data Fiduciary and the India-located VPS provider hosting the agents is a Data Processor under Section 8(2), which keeps processing onshore and avoids cross-border transfer exposure.

8. Technology Stack

ComponentImplemented stack

Backend and applicationPython 3.14 with FastAPI and httpx, packaged as a portable Windows desktop application through pywebview and PyInstaller.
FrontendA vanilla HTML, CSS and JavaScript progressive web app delivered as a desktop executable, with no build step and all assets local for offline use, and projection-sized typography for a large live audience.
DatabasePer-client encrypted SQLite, with strict active-client scoping.
Document intelligenceDonut and LayoutLMv3 with Tesseract for extraction ahead of any model, on a seven-stage deterministic-first ingestion pipeline, using Hugging Face Transformers on PyTorch.
Local AILM Studio running a Qwen instruct model as the deep on-premise reasoner, and Ollama running hermes3 as the fast local worker, with health-check failover.
Cloud AI and agentsGemini as the masked cloud workhorse behind the gateway, OpenRouter capped as a fallback, and the Hermes and OpenClaw agents over Telegram, all India-located and on masked data only.
Knowledge engineA per-family on-premise LLM Wiki, compiled and maintained locally and queried for grounded, cited, low-token answers.
Documents and exportsWord .docx on the firm letterhead as the canonical, editable deliverable, with a faithful PDF for the family newspaper generated from a single shared template.
Security layerThe cryptography library for the encrypted vault and at-rest protection, secrets write-only in configuration, and a hash-chained Trust Ledger.

9. Assurance, Demo Universe and Verification

The demo runs on a frozen synthetic family universe, so a jury can watch the tool meet a family in the story and then open the same family live in the tool. No real family, person or brand name appears anywhere; synthetic data only.

9.1 Engineering assurance

AssuranceDetail

Masking oracleA 114-identifier self-test confirms every direct, indirect and contextual identifier is caught and tokenised by the deterministic rules.
Cross-family uniquenessA hard global assertion confirms that no two families share a member, entity, PAN, Aadhaar, GSTIN, email or bank identifier.
DeterminismIdentical inputs produce identical computed outputs.
Demo Mode hard lockArchitecturally prevents loading anything but the frozen synthetic families on stage.
Offline coreThe deterministic computations, masking, document generation and newspaper render with the network physically disconnected, at a fifty per cent functionality floor.
Trust Ledger integrityThe hash chain verifies across every recorded action.

10. Benefits to Chartered Accountant Firms

  1. Turns succession from a feared, last-minute scramble into a planned, repeatable advisory service the firm can offer every promoter family.
  2. Assembles a family’s entire wealth and ownership picture, scores its readiness out of 100, and produces client-ready output on the firm’s own letterhead.
  3. Protects client confidentiality by construction, with on-premise masking, an encrypted vault that never leaves the building, and a hash-chained audit trail, aligned with a DPDP-era duty of care.
  4. Runs offline-capable on an ordinary laptop, with the privacy guarantee coming from deterministic rules rather than from any AI model.
  5. Strengthens professional judgement rather than replacing it, keeping the Chartered Accountant as the advisor and signatory and routing every legal instrument to a lawyer.
  6. Opens new advisory revenue in succession, continuity, valuation, governance and wealth-preservation work for family-business clients.

11. Standards and Professional Alignment

The platform is designed to support professional judgement, and applies the following frameworks as guidance for advisory work, documentation, confidentiality and competence boundaries, subject to engagement scope.

DomainFrameworks referenced

Succession, wealth and taxIncome-tax Act 1961 provisions on transfer, gift and capital gains as planning and risk indicators. India has no estate or inheritance tax.
Company and governance lawCompanies Act 2013, including section 166 on directors’ duties and section 188 on related-party transactions, with Hindu Undivided Family and Limited Liability Partnership considerations.
Indirect taxCGST Act 2017 thresholds and obligations, framed as compliance indicators.
Professional conductChartered Accountants Act 1949 and the ICAI Code of Ethics, including confidentiality, and the advisory-only boundary that routes every legal instrument to a lawyer.
Securities boundaryThe SEBI investment-advice boundary respected, with all portfolio content hard-walled to education and operations.
Data protectionDigital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, with the firm as Data Fiduciary and the India-located VPS provider as Data Processor under Section 8(2).
Accounting and valuationInd AS and Schedule III presentation considerations for the family’s entities.

Submission conclusionVirasat AI demonstrates how a Chartered Accountant firm can give every family business the equivalent of a family office on an ordinary laptop, assembling a family’s wealth and ownership, scoring its succession readiness, modelling an orderly transfer with tax and risk, and producing defensible advisory output on the firm’s letterhead, with confidential family data masked on the firm’s premises before any identifier leaves and a human Chartered Accountant in control of every conclusion. It is positioned as a practical, privacy-first and professionally defensible succession and legacy instrument for the Indian Chartered Accountant ecosystem.
